two steps back

Just yesterday I was thrilled to have the house cleaned up and bit and starting to feel like home. Then we emptied three tubs of hand painted china and knick knacks. And two boxes of mooses and other knick knacks. While it was fun to go through things I had forgotten I even had, it left my recently cleared table like this.

mess

By the way, my new phone actually takes pretty good pictures, if I could just stop my hands from shaking so much.

  1. I know it’s tough to see, but it will all get put away and organized. You are in control and can choose to do what you want when you feel like it. 🙂 These new cell phones take better photos that my cameras!

    1. It will. I’ve got some done today. I’ll have to wait for Taylor for the stuff requiring a step stool. Probably stuff will get moved around over time. I hate moving.

  2. Cute stuff! Everyone hates moving. There does come a point at which it begins to feel awesome, at least for me anyway, about when you see there are not too many boxes left to empty. 😉 YMMV.

    1. Yup. It was satisfying to get through the initial HAD to be unpacked boxes and the pile of eventually-to-be-unpacked boxes was much smaller. Still, I’m over it now. And frustrated with not being able to find things that I know have to be here somewhere. And I have to make some choices about what to re-pack since I just have way too many thingamabobs and doodads to display.

    1. The moose shelf is getting thinned out. Seriously, it looked like an army of mooses on parade. Christmas mooses may rotate in next fall or perhaps I need more shelves. Or to have a garage sale. I know it will get sorted in time but I have never been known for my patience – and getting some of these things out is part of what makes it feel like home. I’ve never owned before and it’s both worrisome and exciting to be able to put pictures and whatnot wherever I want them. And I’m never moving again. I plan to die in my sleep at some nebulous point in the future and let someone else deal with all this stuff.

        1. I have Halloween and Thanksgiving mooses too. I have, in fact, far too many mooses. Are you a fellow moose fan or just someone thinking as to how I might be better off in a nice padded room?
