Interview with Dr. Denise Faustman at DiabetesMine
Dr. Faustman has been doing research to reverse type 1 diabetes in mice using a “cheap, generic drug” called BCG. BCG may help to “kill off” the T-cells that attack insulin producing cells in people with type-1 diabetes. It’s interesting and I hope it proves successful. Much of the information quickly available on the web is really technical and even for a former biology major, doesn’t make for good early morning reading. Dr. Faustman’s research still remains controversial as other researchers have had trouble replicating it. Still – what if?
