Yep, I’m adjusting to lower blood sugars – again. Living in the 200s and 300s for so long, normal sometimes feels low again. It has been kind of strange, sometimes I feel cold and clammy at 93 and other times at 120. Then again, sometimes I’m fine at 95 and 111. What gives?
I’m thinking that part of the weak-in-the-knees feeling I experience is plain old hunger. It’s like my body is trying to trick me. “Hey Zaz! There’s no more fuel. None at all. Don’t want to burn any of this nice fat we have stored…. eat! eat!”
Not that I would listen to a body which is so obviously lying.

LOL I know that feeling well and a friend of mine thinks that a great excuse to always eat.
I suppose the best way to sort of control that is test when you get the feeling and hopefully the will power is there not to eat.

You know what’s funny? I couldn’t get my BGs to come down – now I’m having trouble keeping them up. Got up to 78 this morning – after pizza night! Had a postprandial of 108 after dinner today. Not sure what to think about that.
It’s a new world. I’ve dropped one glucophage, probably need to back off the insulin and see where that goes.

Keep adjusting the insulin… it’s tricky sometimes but practice helps. Like you said it’s about balance… little tweaks all the time. Enjoy those good readings… you worked hard for them!

I took the Levemir down 5u and was 107 this morning, which seems about perfect. I don’t know if that’ll be enough for now but I’ll have more adjustments to do when I eat less – and maybe when I lose more weight. That should be interesting.

Lisa! You’re home!
You fit with us. You know Phatz and Eve and you’ll like Pug and Schnuki. Occasionally even Bud stops by. If you want to create a wordpress profile I’ll set you up to post – otherwise you are always free to comment your little heart out. We love having you come by – even if we are really, really quiet most of the time.
As for the surgery, it’s on hold at least temporarily and I’m not sure when/if it’ll get scheduled but I appreciate your good thoughts.
HUGS!
