  1. Sounds like you had a really exciting trip. Sorry to hear you hurt your knee. Surgery is not fun! I’ve missed seeing you around here. Hope you’ll be checking in more often.

  2. Hi ya adamswife nice to see you again.

Ok I am going to try to recall my trip and post every so often.

I arrived in San Fran and caught a shulte bus to the hotel
and thats when I missed judged the last step and stuffed my knee.
So i spent a lot of time at the ‘coffee shop’ , as shown in the photo, meet with friends for lunch one day and look around near Union square.

20 years ago Union Sq was a grassy hill and now its a paved area (see photo)

well thats about it for the first four days , more to follow

  3. Thanks, Pug. I like to hear about the travels of my friends. And it makes the pictures more interesting. -Eve

  4. My pleasure eve :)

To make things interesting, I wont be telling you which photo’s are which, so you will have to work it out yourself.

PS there is one pic that the filename is mislabeled. Can you work it out. :D

  5. /me beats Pug with a stick!

  6. Ouch!!!!!!!!!!
I see Zaz has tried and failed to find the missleading pic :D

  7. The story continues………………………………
I was picked up by a friend from the hotel and moved location to Half Moon Bay. It was a pleasent 40 min trip, south of San Fran and I did remember some of the area from 20 years ago and there were some changes.
Road improvement, a tunnel was under construction etc

I was shown the area and vist the town of HMB for the first time so did a bit of shopping and visited a coffe shop.

Site seeing was the order of the day with a day trip to Point Lobos where we had lunch. The photos include the ruin of a famous bath house that was burnt down and never rebuilt.
And some of the beaches were visted too.

Another day was spent in San Jose , a shopping center , where i visited a game store that supplies myself with figures that I play games with. (note to self , get some pics of it)

Nights were spent either going out to dinner or eating in.
One day we went to the habour and bought a fresh salmon :D . Which was great.

Well thats about it for the week i spent there
    Next stop was Philidelia. :D

  8. Ooooo fresh salmon. I always end up talking about the places I eat on vacation. I might have some food issues. LOL.

  9. opps i made a mistake the next stop was Bakersfield where i spent 4 days visiting a friend. I had meet her on a hoilday in Thaiti in the late 70’s and remained in contact ever snice.

I went to a BBQ, and her kids scocer matchs, which was quite.

then I went to Los Angles CA. I did a night tour of the highlights and bou how LA has chanaged for when i was there 21 years ago.

I visted a tourist shopping area near Univeral studio . 20 years ago the area was bush. So things have chanaged a hell of a lot.

NOW its off to philidelia :D

Here is a link to my pics of home and hoby.

  10. Yay! New Pug Pics! Now we can see Pug’s house and the shed he spends all his time in. And wild parrots. That always just seems so weird to me!

  11. That shed looks better from the outside than my last house. Hey, Pug, will you come organize my hobbies? My work space doesn’t look at all neat and tidy like yours.

  12. Of course Eve, lets see i have an opening in 2009, will that do.

  13. I’m sure the mess will still be here.

  14. Hi Pug,you have a very nice house and an interesting hobby.
I love the parrot, wish it was in my back yard too.

  15. Why thank you. :D Its home.

  16. The Story continues………………..
I made my way to Philli via Ohare int airport. I think the airports workout your connecting flights and makes sure you have a very long way to walk to it.

I stayed at The Ritten House, a very old dacore style, and did a bit of walking around it. I didnt do any of the toursit things , just spent time with my friend.
I had also meet her in Thati so long ago.
Her and her son lived in one of the old suburbs which ones sees in the old movies. Run down but being renovated.

Well now its off to see Zaz and once again, my plane fight goes thru Ohare.

More pics of my hobby, a game that was played sat the 12th of jan.

  17. That looks like a convention style game. You don’t usually play with that big of a table, do you? Did you win?

  18. That was a special game and yes its a lot larger than the ones I play on

    That was a 12′ x 8′ Playing area, normaly we use a 6′ x4′
    table.

The game ended in a draw :D

  19. Looks like a fun way to spend an afternoon.

  20. Sorry about the delay. So the story continues……….

Well i arrived at Springfield airport to be meet by Zaz and then drove to Branson.
Zaz had organised a lodge outside Branson. The place was a mansion :) . Well it was to me. :)
So we did the tourist bit………
Found a very nice Cafe where we had our breakfast. The cost and meals where very reasonible. They even made me soft boiled eggs as a request.

    We went to 3 shows,
The Lake curise on a showboat, with a show of course. Manly song and dance numbers.
‘The spirit of the dance’ a River Dance stlye show.
    ‘The chinesse acrobats’
All the shows were great and fun was had by all.

This is were i lost my ATM card. :( after getting money out
but i didnt realise it till we got to Springfield.

    ……………. to be continued

  21. Oh that is very exciting! You didn’t mention the jacuzzi and the antiques at the cafe. Life was grand in Branson! :)

  22. Well Springfield was fun. Just to add a bit more , the hotel I was in had a minor fire and had to be evacuated.

Well lets see what did we get up too……
Hmm first there was Wall Mart…
A small War musem which had some intersetin exhibts
    then Wall Mart
One evening went to a ” Dueling pianno Bar” which was very interseting and the nite was pretty ‘blue’.
And then there was Wall Mart
Visited the ACW battlefield which i really enjoyed. (see Pics)
    once again Wall Mart…..
Went to the caves, then time going to take my camera :D . Drove around the caves in a jeep train.
and then once again Wall Mart
Well I liked going to Wall Mart.

Well thats was about it for Springfield and now its off to Bulter ( near Pittsburg)

I have updated my pic in Home and Hobbies
I had friend visit me from Melbourne and so i took a few shots

and a pic of a quilt my sister had made

  23. I like your sister’s quilt. She did a good job. That’s a lot of work.

I rather like Wal-Mart, too. I like that I can get just about everything I need without going to a bunch of stores. One-stop shopping is a good thing. ;)

  24. How come when I think of everything we did I think of all the restaurants?

    Mmm Mr Yens!

  25. Hee hee well goinf to resturants is normal :D

Thanks Eve , will pass it on to sis :D

  26. I like trying out new restaurants, too. I think I wonderful theme for a trip would be just to visit new places to eat. :D
